AQUASAN started the delivery of the second cycle of NRW program with initial workshop

On 4 and 5 July 2018, Aquasan Network in BiH delivered the first two-day workshop (Initial Workshop) within the D-LeaP Capacity Development Program for Non-Revenue Water. The Workshop took place in Doboj, BiH with the participation of 15 representatives from 7 PUCs in BiH.

Kick-off Workshop of the fourth cycle of the Utility Benchmarking Program took place in Kiev

On June 12, the kick-off Workshop of the fourth cycle of the Utility Benchmarking Program in the Ukrainian Benchmarking Hub took place in Kiev. The training workshop was attended by 26 representatives of Ukrainian water utilities, which are participating in the program. Philip Weller, the Head of Technical Secretariat of IAWD, joined the workshop via Skype to make and openning speech and to congratulate the workshop participants.

Information about HUB Benchmarking Kosovo and Albania visit to Sofia, Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Water Association (BWA) hosted a working meeting within the Benchmarking Project, Benchmarking HUB of Kosovo and Albania. This event was closed on 30 May 2018 at the University of Architecture, Construction Engineering and Geodesy. Present were a total of 19 representatives from Albania and Kosovo. In the framework of the visit was organized a seminar and a visit to the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Sofia - Water Supply Kubratovo.

Water Safety and Crisis Management Training for Young Water Professionals at the 2018 YWP Conference in Zagreb

By the end of March, the Training of Trainers for the Water Safety and Crisis Management Curriculum under D-LeaP was completed with great success (see here). In a follow-up, IAWD took the opportunity to have the contents and essentials of this ongoing program presented at the 2018 Young Water Professionals Conference in Zagreb, Croatia.

First cycle of  Benchmarking Exercise in the Danube Hub successfully completed

The first utility benchmarking exercise in the Danube Hub, which started as a pilot in late 2017, concluded in May 2018 with 18 participating utilities from 9 countries (Albania - 3 utilities; Bosnia and Herzegovina - 5 utilities; Croatia - 1 utility; Hungary - 1 utility; Kosovo - 2 utilities; Macedonia - 2 utilities; Montenegro - 1 utility; Romania - 1 utility; and Serbia - 2 utilities). The Danube Hub 2018 exercise included the development of utility benchmarking reports and the organization of the 1st Danube Hub benchmarking workshop on March 22-23 in Montenegro in a World Water Day event, which was organized by an IAWD member, the Regional Water Company of Montenegro Coastal Area in the winter resort of Zabljak and in the coastal city of Tivat. Learning by doing in the D-LeaP will strengthen and improve water utilities through the Danube region.
